Drugs of Abuse Testing

Anagnostics' multiplexed, competitive immuno-chemical tests are used for drugs of abuse monitoring in a therapeutical setting. Urine or saliva are semi-quantitatively tested for drugs of abuse and psychotropic substances.

Principle

Urine or saliva are directly transferred into the hybcell, without any filtering or centrifugation. The test bases on antibodies immobilized onto the hybcell's surface. Drugs of abuse within the sample compete with dissolved drug-conjugates for binding to the antibodies on the hybcell's surface.

The more drug is present in the sample, the less conjugates bind to the antibodies of the surface. Non-bound conjugates are washed out during a washing step. Conjugates are coupled to a fluorescent marker, bound conjugates result in a fluorescence signal. Therefore a "loss of function" is measured: the less drugs of abuse is present, the higher the signals.
