DR. BERNHARD RONACHER
Bernhard Ronacher is a molecular biologist, geneticist and
biochemist. Ronacher has developed the basic idea of the hybcell.
During the years 2000 to 2002 he headed the molecular diagnostics
laboratory of Lambda GmbH. There he established the DNA chip&array
technology. 2001 the first Austrian biochip, ParoCheck, was filed
for patent. In 2002 Lambda was successfully sold to Greiner Bio-One.
During his work at the university he managed for the very first time
to unscramble the course of infection by Rhino viruses, mainly
responsible for the common cold. His work is fundamental for the
development of anti-viral agents and was awarded from the European
Hoechst Foundation. |
